Dominic DeSorbo, 92, of Southington passed away on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016 at Southington Care Center. He was the husband of the late Edythe (Constante) DeSorbo.
He was born on Sept. 22, 1924 in Southington, the son of the late Pasquale and Amelia DeSorbo. Dominic attended schools in Southington, Hillyer College and the University of Hartford. He was a Veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy from 1943-1946 with his last assignment being aboard the aircraft carrier USS Lake Champlain in the 6th Fleet. He retired from the family insurance business which was located in Southington. Dominic was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and many trips to Canada with his friends. He was a member of the Elks, UNICO and VFW and the Southington Sports Club. Above all, Dominic was a kind, loving, generous and hardworking man, always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends and neighbors. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law Earl and Molly DeSorbo and Donald and Jan DeSorbo a sister and brother-in-law Dolores and Joseph LaPorte and sister-in-law Helen DeSorbo all of Southington as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers Louis, Joseph, Alexander, Vito, Anthony and John DeSorbo and sisters Mary Castolene, Nancy Marasco, Ann Young and Josephine Charpentier.
A Private service and burial was held.
