Dean Caloutas, 64, of Wallingford, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016 at home after a brief illness. The husband of Deborah Oshana-Caloutas, Dean was born in New Haven on April 26, 1952, to Sophia (Basel) Caloutas of Stamford and the late John Caloutas.
For many years, Mr. Caloutas was a science teacher in the Meriden School System. After retiring he was able to enjoy his passion, skiing and his great joy, his family.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his daughter, Mallory and husband Eric Goclowski of North Haven and Michael Fager of Meriden, his twin grand-daughters, Blake and Bryce;his sister, Marietta and brother-in-law, Dr. Alan Morelli of Stamford ; nephews and niece; Alex, Nick, and Annie. Finally, Dean leaves his mother and father-in-law, Angelica and Zaya Oshana; brother-in-law, Zaya and wife Karen Oshana; niece Katherine, and nephew Zaya .
Calling Hours will be Thursday, November third from four to seven pm. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington.
The Funeral will be held on Friday, November fourth, at twelve noon St. Barbara’s Greek Orthodox Church, 480 Race Brook Rd. Orange, CT, with one hour of extra calling hours from eleven to twelve. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery, 209 Belleview Ave. Southington between two and two fifteen pm.
