Anthony “Andy” L. Ouellette Jr., 84, of Southington and Indian Town of Old Saybrook, passed away on Monday, Feb. 13, 2017 at the Alzheimer’s Resource Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Ruth J. (Barcavich) Ouellette for 62 years.
Born September 22, 1932 in Hartford the son of the late Anthony and Ruth (Marsden) Ouellette. Andy was a graduate of William Hall High School Class of 1950. Andy was a veteran of the U.S Army serving during the Korean Conflict from 1953-1954. He was the owner of Central Business Machines of Southington until his retirement in 2013.
He was a Constable for the Town of Southington, a member of the Southington Planning and Zoning and the Ethics Board, board of directors for the Indian Town Assoc. along with many other associations in both Southington and Old Saybrook. He loved music and spending time in Indian Town, Old Saybrook.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Robert Ouellette and wife Carol of Plantsville, Linda Brostowicz and husband Walter of Clinton and Dr. Kathleen M. Ouellette of Winchester; three brothers, Richard Ouellette of W. Hartford, John Ouellette of Wallingford Jerry and Susie Ouellette of Weatogue; a sister Ruth Ouellette of Hartford; three grandchildren Melissa Hayes and husband Jesse of Burlington, Gregory Brostowicz of NJ and Brian Brostowicz and wife Fatima of NY, three beloved great grandchildren, Allison, Caroline and Anderson Hayes; his nieces and nephews Elizabeth, William, Stephen, Aimee, Richard, Thomas, Mathew, Michelle, Christopher, and Braeden. He was predeceased by three brothers, Rev. Louis M. Ouellette and William and Thomas Ouellette.
Special thanks to the Alzheimer’s Resource Center of Plantsville, CT for the excellent care they gave to Andy. A funeral will be held on Friday at 9:45 a.m. from DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to Mary Our Queen Church, 248 Savage St., Plantsville for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m, followed by military honors. Due to weather conditions, burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Mary Our Queen Church or the La Salette Missions of Hartford, 85 New Park Ave., Hartford, CT 06106 .
