Richard “Dick” A. Fracasso, 74, of Kensington, died unexpectedly on Monday, March 27, 2017 at The Hospital of Central Connecticut surrounded by his children.

The son of the late Louis M. and Anna (Garesio) Fracasso, Dick was born in New Britain, CT and moved to Kensington where he resided for the past 44 years.  He was a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas H.S. and the Hartford Institute of Accounting.  He began his 40-year career in banking as a teller at New Britain National Bank and worked his way up to Senior Vice President.  He retired from Southington Savings Bank after the birth of his first grandchild and happily took on the role of “Nono.”

Dick was also very involved in many community organizations over the years including the Marconi Club, The New Britain Boys Club, Junior Achievement, the Kiwanis Club, and just recently became a member of the Berlin Rotary Club.  He was also a member of St. Paul Church.  Dick was a selfless and devoted husband to Susanne until her death in 2013, father, and grandfather.  His greatest joy was being with his family.

He is survived by his two daughters and a son: Ann Walling and her husband Alan of Plantsville, Amy Fracasso of Branford, and Anthony and his husband Tim White of Silver Spring, MD.  He also leaves his “number one granddaughter” Olivia Rose and his grandson and sports buddy Matthew Richard.  “Uncle,” as he was affectionally called, is also survived by his niece Susanne Cameron, and nephews, Mike Marzi, Rick Marzi, and Albert Fracasso.  He leaves his brother-in-law Lou Marzi and sisters-in-law Liesel Fracasso and Kathleen Charboneau as well as many cousins and dear, close friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Louis M. Fracasso Jr. and sister Lois Marzi.

Funeral services will be held on Monday April 3, 2017 at 9:00 AM from the New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 485Alling St. Kensington.  Entombment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Sunday, April 2nd from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
