Obit - Frank SequaendiaFrank Sequenzia, 72, passed away at his home in Southington, CT, on May 28, 2016 with his loving family by his side. His final moments were peaceful, for which his family will be forever grateful.

Frank was born in Sortino, Sicily on January 27, 1944. He attended Weaver High School, and later served in the Army National Guard. He worked for over 40 years in the printing industry, and in his retirement he worked at Mulberry Gardens as a driver. His job gave him so much satisfaction helping the elderly.

Frank was predeceased by his parents, Salvatore and Maria Sequenzia, and his in-laws, William and Teresa McGowan. He is survived by his wife, Sandra, of 49 years. Along with his wife, as a loving and devoted father, he leaves his daughter Kelly Ann (Bryan) Bess of Lititz, PA, and his son Frank L. (Lee-Ann) Sequenzia of Sandy Hook, CT; his grandchildren, Matthew, Nathaniel, Melanie, T.J. and Ashton, and great-grandson Cayden James. He also leaves his sister, Francesca Sequenzia, of West Hartford, CT, his sister, Sofia Sequenzia (John Shostrom) of Brooklyn, NY, his brother, Robert (Barbara) Sequenzia of Portland, CT, his brother-in-law William (Joan) McGowan of Southington, CT, and his beloved nieces and nephews.

Sandra was the love of his life. They were wed in 1967, and they were a team until the very end. He had a love for the Yankees from the time he came to the United States from Italy, but did not outwardly portray this love to his Red Sox loving wife. Frank enjoyed watching old movies, especially Westerns and taking trips to the shore and the casino. He had a passion for cooking, especially traditional Italian dishes. During every family gathering his cooking was always enjoyed by all. He also loved to dance and sing along to music, which comforted him in his final days. Known as “Scutch” to his family, he will always be remembered for his willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need of help.

His family wants to express gratitude for the loving care and compassion he received from the Hartford Healthcare Cancer Institute at the Hospital of Central Connecticut, as well as the Hartford Healthcare at Home Hospice team and Independence at Home team, especially Kedean, Liz, Lil, Debbie and Wioletta, who provided wonderful care in his final days.

On Thursday, June 2, 2016, relatives and friends are invited to call from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Della Vecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main Street, Southington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt Street, Plantsville, at 10:00 am on Friday, June 3, 2016.
