Shaun M. Geary, 34, of Waterbury, passed away on June 11, 2016, after a brief illness, at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born in New Haven on October 17, 1981. Shaun graduated from Crosby High School in Waterbury in 1999 and completed a certificate program in Agronomy at the University of Massachusetts. He had been an Assistant Superintendant of many local golf courses.
He is survived by his mother Elizabeth (Mullaly) Geary and his father Matthew Geary Jr. and wife Beth all of Waterbury; a brother Matthew Geary and wife Lisa of Manchester; aunts Joan Thomas and husband Joseph of Waterbury, Mary Ellen Lauria of Prospect, Maureen Pelosi and husband Louis of Wolcott, Nancy Silva and husband Joseph of Waterbury, and Patty Geary of Waterbury, uncles Joseph Mullaly and wife Janice of Waterbury and James DeVito of FL, a step brother Chris Crump, 3 step sisters Stacey Penniman, Robyn Dion, and Melissa Richards; a nephew Matthew Geary and 2 nieces Emerson and Olivia Geary, along with cousins David, Sarah, Brian, Jennifer, Kristyn, Michelle, Louis, Emily, Joseph, Meghan, Caitlin, Ashley, Jimmy, and Ryan.
Shaun was pre-deceased by aunt Patricia DeVito; uncles James Geary and Thomas Lauria, and grandparents Joseph and Irene Mullaly and Matthew and Ann Geary.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday June 15, 2016 at 10 am. Calling hour will be on Tuesday from 8:30 am – 9:30 am at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
