Henry “Hank” Rasmus, 84, loving widower of Alberta Rasmus, passed away at The Pines of Bristol on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016.
Hank was born on February 18, 1932 in Nanticoke, PA to the late Anthony and Catherine Rasmus. After graduating High school Hank served his Country proudly and honorably in the Navy during the Korean War. After returning home Hank spent his career working as a spring supervisor for 42 years at Connecticut Spring & Stamping until his retirement.
When Hank wasn’t working he enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it was golfing, hunting or fishing. Most importantly, he loved to spend time with his family.
Hank is survived by his daughter Lisa Sharpe and her husband Barry Sharpe of Myrtle Beach, SC; his son Jay Rasmus of Southington, his son Daryl Rasmus and his wife Terry of Plantsville; two brothers: John and Raymond; two sisters: Catherine and Shirley; four granddaughters: Tara, Melanie, Dana and Danielle; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents Hank was pre-deceased by seven of his siblings: Anthony, Henry, Theresa, Josephine, Lotti, Joanie and Evelyn.
Funeral services for Hank will be celebrated at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, CT 06010, on Saturday (Nov. 12, 2016) at 10 AM followed by a procession to St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol, where military honors will be held. Relatives and friends are invited to call at Funk Funeral Home prior to the service on Saturday between 9 and 10 AM.
