Obituary: Joseph Kochol, 81

obit-joseph-kocholJoseph Kochol, 81, of Southington, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at home with his family by his side. He was the husband of the late Maryann (Ziezulewicz) Kochol.

Born October 31, 1935 in New Britain, he was the son of the late Joseph and Kathryn (Corby) Kochol. After graduating from New Britain High School, he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force.

He is survived by his son, Peter Kochol and his fiancé Amy McCluskey of New Britain, and his daughter, Amy (Kochol) and her husband Dr. Jose Arias-Camison of Avon; 6 grandchildren, Michael and Jacob Kochol, Alejandro, Raquel, Elena and Jose Antonio Arias-Camison; his sister Barbara Simpson and her husband Richard of New Britain and his brother Edward Kochol and his wife Carol of Southington along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Friendly and outgoing, Joe seemingly could talk to anyone about anything. He put this to good use for many years as a salesman with Foster and Co. until his retirement in 2013. He was active as a parishioner of Mary Our Queen Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Southington community.

He was a devoted father and grandfather, brother, and friend.

The funeral will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Mary Our Queen Church, 248 Savage St., Plantsville. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5-8 pm at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to FoodShare, 450 Woodland Avenue Bloomfield, CT 06002-1342.
