Marilyn “Mitzi” (Deccy) Cronin, 68, of Southington passed away Monday, December 5, 2016 at home after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was the beloved wife of Howard Cronin for 48 years.
She was born December 28, 1947 in Hartford, the daughter of Dorothy (Finn) Deccy of New Britain and the late Raymond Deccy. She was an LPN and had worked at the Hospital for Special Care in New Britain for 24 years before retiring in 2014. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Southington. She loved quilting, hiking, bird watching, reading historical novels and was a WWII buff.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Kellee Cronin, Patrick Cronin and Jennifer Scheer and eight grandchildren, Amber, Talia, Michaela, Avielle, Ryan, Mason, Eric and Zackary. She also leaves her sisters, Joanne Deccy and Amy Soobitsky and a brother Raymond Deccy, Jr.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 11:30am at the First Congregational Church, 37 Main Street, Southington. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be on Sunday, December 11, 2016 from 2-5pm at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street.
