Nelson J. Dumond, 88, of Southington, died on Tuesday, April 5.
Nelson J. Dumond, 88, of Southington, passed away on Tuesday, April 5th at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. He was the loving husband of Jeanne “Marie” Cormier Dumond for 63 years.
He was born in Grand Isle, ME the son of the late Patrick and Mary (Albert) Dumond. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Emhart Corp.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughters Diane Dumond of Southington and Marcy Hoffman and Ken Pendleton of Plantsville, his cherished grandchildren Paul and wife Kimberly Bouchard, Jordan Hoffman and Andrew Hoffman, his great-grandchildren Tessa Schneider, Colin Passarelli, Peyton Bouchard and Harrison Bouchard . He also leaves a brother Gerald Dumond of Windham , 2 sisters Gloria Broadwell and Nancy Dumond both of Terryville as well as many close family and friends. He was predeceased by his beloved grand- daughter Tara Schneider and many brothers and sisters. Nelson was devoted to his family and would always be there to lend a helping hand.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:15 am from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St. Plantsville at 10 am. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5-7 pm.
