Obit - Francis ChambrelloFrancis Patrick Chambrello, 84, of Southington, loving husband of Patricia (Hynes) Chambello, passed away after losing a 2 year battle against lung cancer. He fought the good fight until the very end.

Francis was born in Southington to the late Frank and Celia (Testa) Chambrello. He had three great passions in his life, his family, the Marine Corps and golf. (Though the truth be known he was no Tiger Woods.)   Frank served proudly in the US Marine Corps from 1951-1954.  He always celebrated St. Patrick’s Day as the day he entered the Marine Corps. Frank also served as an auxiliary member of the Plainville Police Dept. serving with his father and his late brother Ralph Chambrello who were regular members of the Plainville Police Dept.  He was a former employee of GE in Plainville and a self-employed electrical contractor.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons Mark (Mary Margaret) Chambrello, Bryan Chambrello and Jeffrey Chambrello, step- daughters Deborah (Daniel Monaco) Loretta (Arthur Clark), grandchildren, Patricia “Susie let’s make a deal”, Anthony, Bronson and Carly Rose, great grandchildren, Giovanni and Liliana Rose (Bella) and  a dear friend Donald Dunlop.  Frank is also survived by his loving sisters Elizabeth (Vito) Masotti, Christina (William) Meyer, Madeline (Martin Halpern) and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Ralph Chambrello.

Frank’s family would like to express our deepest gratitude and thanks the the wonderful staff at CT Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion shown to Frank and family.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 25th at 9:45 am from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to Mary Our Queen Church, 248 Savage St. Plantsville at 10:30 am for a Mass. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 4-7 pm.
