Obit - Alan C GriffinAlan C. Griffin, “The Ol’ Ranger and his faithful dog Colt,” 69, of the Plantsville section of Southington, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury after a short illness. He had been the loving husband of Leslie (Turek) Griffin for 28 years.

Born November 9, 1946 in Waterbury to the late James and Mary (Lucid) Griffin, he had been a longtime Plantsville resident.

Alan was a Crosby High School graduate and went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from the former New Haven College where he was a member of their golf team. Alan was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus in Waterbury and Southington. He was active with the Knights of Columbus for over 30 years and was a past Grand Knight, past Faithful Navigator, past 4th Degree District Deputy and belonged to the Color Guard.

In addition to his wife Leslie, he is survived by his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-laws: Linda and Doug Magrath of Berlin, Diane and Steve Sesko of Southington, John and Caroline Turek of Plantsville, many nephews, his niece and his loyal service dog Colt. He was predeceased by his baby brother, Donny John.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Alan’s memory may be made to St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St., Plantsville, CT 06479.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. obituariesAlmeda (Ellie) M. Lariviere, 76, of Southington and formerly of North Port, FL, passed away on Saturday May 14, 2016 at The Alzheimer’s Resource Center in Plantsville, surrounded by her loving family.  She was the wife of the late Maurice L. Lariviere.

She was born on November 22, 1939 in Maine, and was the daughter of the late Leroy and Edith Brackett. Ellie was a parishioner of Mary Our Queen Church when she resided is Southington. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Ellie also enjoyed watching cooking shows and listening to her husband play music.

She is survived by her four daughters Dee Miclette of Concord, NC, Julie Wallace  and Cathy Blanchette both of Southington and Lilian Byrne of Broad Brook, CT., 13 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 1 step grand-son, along with several nieces and nephews. Almeda was predeceased by her sisters Ruth and Pauline and brothers Larry and Bernard.

Obit - Joanne CotugnoJoanne (Secondo) Cotugno, 77, of Southington, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016 at home.  She was the wife of the late Leonardo Cotugno.

She was born September 27, 1938 in Castel Campagnano, Italy, the daughter of the late Giovanni and Assunta (Carbone) Secondo.  She came to the United States at the age of 12 and resided in Southington her entire life.  She retired from General Electric of Plainville.

She loved to cook for her family and friends.  Her meatballs and pepper biscuits were legendary.  She loved her garden and took her role of care giver seriously, taking care of her family, neighbors and friends.  She was a frequent visitor to the residents of The Summit at Plantsville nursing home.  She was a parishioner of St. Thomas Church and she was a member of the GE Retirees Club.

She is survived by her children Bonnie C. Mangan of South Windsor, Susan C. Pulaski and Charles, of Southington, and Lina C. Irizarry of Southington, three grandchildren who she loved with all of her heart, Joshua Irizarry and Gabriela Pulaski both of Southington and Elizabeth Mangan of South Windsor, a sister, Anna Garfield and Henry of Savannah, GA, sister-in-law Esterina Secondo of North Miami, FL, brother-in-law Gino Cotugno and Torrina of Rome, Italy and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and devoted friends in the US and Italy.

She was predeceased by a sister Filomena Mazzaro and brother Domenico Secondo.

The funeral will be held Thursday, May 26, 2016, at 9:15 am from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home; 211 N. Main St. to St. Thomas Church at 10 am for a Mass.  Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery.  Calling hours will be Wednesday May 25th from 3 -7 pm.

Obit - Mary PalazzoMary (DellaVecchia) Palazzo, 89, of Southington, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2016, in the comfort of her loving family. She was the wife of the late Louis E. Palazzo, who was formerly of  Bristol.

A lifelong resident of Southington, she was born in Southington on May 29, 1926, the daughter of the late Louis and Filomena (Picone) DellaVecchia. She graduated from Lewis High School in 1944. While in school she helped her father and brothers at their auto repair business, the Southington Garage, on North Main Street, where Renaldo’s Restaurant now sits. Later, she was an owner of Imperial Spring Co., along with her husband and their sons. As part of their business she and her husband traveled to

She was a parishioner first of St. Thomas Church and then of St. Dominic.

She was a Scrabble enthusiast, but family, music and religion were her passions. For more than 30 years, the St. Dominic choir was her second home — Wednesday night rehearsals, funerals, and of course, Sunday mass. She was a gifted pianist.

She is survived by five sons: Louis B. Palazzo of Marion, Lawrence P. and wife Robin (Driscoll) Palazzo of Plantsville, Paul F. and Lorraine (Iannello) Palazzo of New York, Michael J. Palazzo of Bristol and Benjamin M. and wife Maria Serrano-Palazzo of Meriden, and five grandchildren: Christopher, Lee and Daniel; Alejandra and Benjamin. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters, Jenny DellaVecchia, Frank DellaVecchia, Sisto DellaVecchia, Florence Triano, Helen Fietkiewicz, Viola DellaVecchia and Anthony DellaVecchia.

Her funeral will be held on Friday at 9:15 am from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to St. Dominic Church at 10 am for a Mass. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 3-7 p.m.

John Foster III, 59, of Bristol, died on Friday, May 20.

John Foster III, 59, of Bristol, died on Friday, May 20. He was the son of John Howard Foster Jr. and Patricia May Foster.

He was born in Bennington, Vt. on June 1, 1957. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from June 16, 1975 to Nov. 26, 1979 and received an honorable discharge. He worked with Cigna, Inc.

He loved his kitty, Jinx, and a “furever” home was found, so Jinx can continue to be cared for in a loving home.

He is survived by his brother, Stacey Foster of Bennington, Vt.; his former wife, Debbie Foster of Bristol; along with a number of friends and acquaintances.

He was predeceased by his parents.

A celebration of his life is scheduled for Saturday, June 11, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the Bristol Recovery Club, 67 West St., Bristol. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Obit - Dina M AltemusDina Marie (Heverling) Altemus, 46, of Southington, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Cheshire Regional Rehab Center. She had been the loving wife of Charles S. Altemus III for 22 years.

Dina was born on October 19, 1969 in Waterbury. She was Porter and Chester Institute graduate and worked as a greeter for Toys “R” Us, Toy Works, Lowes and the Disney Store. Dina was also a lover of dogs.

In addition to her husband Charles, she is survived by her son Charles S. Altemus IV of Southington; her father Harry Franklin Heverling II and his wife Jean of Sun City, AZ; three brothers: Donald Zaccario, Harry Franklin Heverling III and Matthew Heverling and her foster father, Carl J. Rossow of Tolland. She was predeceased by her mother, Anne (Slason) Zaccaria and stepfather Mo Zaccaria, and her Slason grandparents.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the Grace United Methodist Church, 121 Pleasant St., Southington. There are no calling hours. Obit - Elisa R ZajacElisa Rose (Cammarota) Zajac, 72, of Southington, daughter of the late Pasquale and Kathryn (Longo) Cammarota and wife of Steven Zajac for 49 years, passed away in comfort and peace on Monday, May 23, 2016 at the HCC of New Britain General after a brief illness.

Elisa enjoyed going to the pool with her husband, family gatherings, going to the casino and playing cards with the girls on Friday nights. She was so looking forward to her Class Reunion in September with her Class of 1961.

Besides her husband, she leaves her loving children, Paula Zajac of Southington and Steven Zajac and his wife Tina of Colchester and her grandchildren: Tyler, Alyssa and Cody Zajac. She also leaves behind her sister Roseann Kozlowski and her husband Robert of Kensington, two sisters-in-law, Lavinia Carbone Cammarota of Wethersfield and Cheryl Geremia Cammarota of Middlefield; her niece Carrie Reny her husband Gerry of Durham and her nephew Matthew Cammarota and his wife Maria of Wallingford and many great-nieces and great-nephews, all of who will miss her so dearly. She was predeceased by her brothers Patrick in 2005 and Frank in 2013, who were there to lovingly greet her along with her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2016 at the St. Dominic’s Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington. Obit - Alexander Adaskaveg JrAlexander Adaskaveg Jr., 88, of Southington, passed away on Thursday May 26, 2016 at Apple Rehab Coccomo in Meriden. He was the beloved husband of the late Philomena “Fannie” (Venditto) Adaskaveg.

Born in Naugatuck, on January 25, 1928, the son of the late Alexander and Eva Adaskaveg Sr..  He was a veteran of the US Navy serving in WWII. Prior to his retirement, Alex was employed by SNET for over 30 years. He was a 4th degree knight in the Knights of Columbus and was an usher and a parishioner of St. Thomas Church.

Alex enjoyed woodcarvings, fishing and gardening.  Upon retirement, he assisted his sons with beekeeping, vending, race car photography, landscaping and working on displays for Atlas Fireworks Co.

Alexander is survived by 3 sons and daughters-in-laws, Michael and Annie Adaskaveg of Oakley, CA, Alexander and Deborah Adaskaveg of Southington, and James and Peggy Adaskaveg of Riverside, CA, 9 grandchildren, Corina, Ashley, Austin, Amy, Allison, Paige, Cole, Jaclyn, and Adam, and 2 great grandchildren Jaxon and Andrew, along with several nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by one brother and four sisters.

The family would like to thank his caregiver, Kathy for her services and keeping him content and comfortable.

Obit - Frank SequaendiaFrank Sequenzia, 72, passed away at his home in Southington, CT, on May 28, 2016 with his loving family by his side. His final moments were peaceful, for which his family will be forever grateful.

Frank was born in Sortino, Sicily on January 27, 1944. He attended Weaver High School, and later served in the Army National Guard. He worked for over 40 years in the printing industry, and in his retirement he worked at Mulberry Gardens as a driver. His job gave him so much satisfaction helping the elderly.

Frank was predeceased by his parents, Salvatore and Maria Sequenzia, and his in-laws, William and Teresa McGowan. He is survived by his wife, Sandra, of 49 years. Along with his wife, as a loving and devoted father, he leaves his daughter Kelly Ann (Bryan) Bess of Lititz, PA, and his son Frank L. (Lee-Ann) Sequenzia of Sandy Hook, CT; his grandchildren, Matthew, Nathaniel, Melanie, T.J. and Ashton, and great-grandson Cayden James. He also leaves his sister, Francesca Sequenzia, of West Hartford, CT, his sister, Sofia Sequenzia (John Shostrom) of Brooklyn, NY, his brother, Robert (Barbara) Sequenzia of Portland, CT, his brother-in-law William (Joan) McGowan of Southington, CT, and his beloved nieces and nephews.

Sandra was the love of his life. They were wed in 1967, and they were a team until the very end. He had a love for the Yankees from the time he came to the United States from Italy, but did not outwardly portray this love to his Red Sox loving wife. Frank enjoyed watching old movies, especially Westerns and taking trips to the shore and the casino. He had a passion for cooking, especially traditional Italian dishes. During every family gathering his cooking was always enjoyed by all. He also loved to dance and sing along to music, which comforted him in his final days. Known as “Scutch” to his family, he will always be remembered for his willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need of help.

His family wants to express gratitude for the loving care and compassion he received from the Hartford Healthcare Cancer Institute at the Hospital of Central Connecticut, as well as the Hartford Healthcare at Home Hospice team and Independence at Home team, especially Kedean, Liz, Lil, Debbie and Wioletta, who provided wonderful care in his final days.

On Thursday, June 2, 2016, relatives and friends are invited to call from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Della Vecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main Street, Southington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt Street, Plantsville, at 10:00 am on Friday, June 3, 2016. Obit - John Burke 2John Michael Burke, 44, of Southington, passed away unexpectedly on May 30, 2016 at his home. He was the loving husband of Justine (LeVasseur) Burke.

Born July 29, 1971 in Waterbury he was the beloved son of John J. and Barbara Burke of Waterbury.

John received his Associates Degree from the Univ. of New Haven. He was the manager of the Hospitality Dept. at Waterbury Hospital. He practiced Buddhism, belonging to the Buddhist Monastery in Woodstock, NY and West Hartford. He was passionate about music and played the guitar and at one time had his own band. John was a sports enthusiast; he enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and the NY Yankees. He took great in assisting with coaching the boys various sports.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was the loving father of Jacob Miles and Nathan Daniel.  He also leaves a brother, Eugene Joseph Burke and wife Cheryl of Naugatuck; a nephew Garrett Burke; mother-in-law, Justine T. LeVasseur and George Paul Hagist, a sister-in-law, Jeanne LeVasseur. He was predeceased by a brother, James Burke, USAF.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Norman L. Koeller, 86, of Meriden, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016 at the Apple Rehabilitation Coccomo in Meriden. He was the husband of Mary (Farley) Koeller for 64 years.

He was born Sept. 28, 1929 in Meriden the son of the late Paul and Mina (Hall) Koeller. He retired from Cytec of Wallingford. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Air Force. Norman was a member of the American Legion Post 45.

Besides his wife he is survived by  his children, Sandra Jobbagy  and husband Kevin of Southington, Mark Koeller and wife Brenda of VA,  5 grandchildren, Jennifer, Stephanie, Jason, Jeremy and Amber, and 10 great grandchildren, Alizae, Jacquelyn, Logan, Valentino, Alyvia, Jovannah, Alex, Maxwell, Gabriel and Isabella. He was predeceased by brothers, Paul and Floyd.

Services and Burial will be held at the State Veteran’s Cemetery in August at a time and date to be announced.

Obit - Gary LaForgeGary LaForge, 58, of Southington, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 2, 2016.

He was born in Southington on June 24, 1957, the son of Lucy and Sidney LaForge.

Gary attended Southington High School. Gary was widely known and respected as an ace mechanic specializing in transmission building, and owned his own business called AA Transmission in East Haven for many years. He loved his children and family gatherings, and camping and fishing.

He also loved working on his antique 1961 Chevy Biscayne, which he rebuilt to showroom condition, and he loved riding his Harley with his friends, and listening to his favorite band, Lynyrd Skynrd.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his two children, Kimberly Wong and Douglas LaForge, two brothers, David LaForge and Dennis LaForge, and two sisters, Laurie Boudreau and Linda LaForge, and his beloved dog, Joe as well as many nieces and nephews, and two great nephews.

Gary was a free spirited, good-hearted guy who loved laughing and partying with friends and family and will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.

Elizabeth ( Beth ) was the daughter of the late Harold Lackey and Dolores Lackey Donna. Beth was born in Southington Ct.

She served in the Army National Guard and loved The Boston Red Sox. Elizabeth is survived by a daughter Katherine Dobson, Brother Peter Lackey, sisters, Eileen Rodriguez ( Luis ),  Sandra Delude, Susan Sorensen ( Stephen ), Christine Lackey, one Grandaughter, one Grandson, two great grandsons, and nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister Carol Ramm.

He was born on May 12, 1986 in Hartford, son of John and Judith (McEntee) Lewkewich.

Joshua was a St. Paul’s Catholic High School graduate, Class of 2005, playing on the ice hockey team for 4 years. He went on to the University of Scranton, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Economics and continued his love of hockey playing. Joshua had a love of music and was a self-taught guitar player, playing in small venues around Connecticut.

In addition to his parents, Joshua is survived by his sister Keleen Rynne Ort and her husband Joe of Trumbull, his uncle Jay McEntee and wife Linda of PA; his aunt Annette Lukasik of Plantsville; his paternal grandfather, John Lewkewich of Southington and his cousins, Christine Lukasik of Middletown, George Lukasik of New Britain and Jimmy, Ricky and Jill McEntee, all of PA. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, James and Mary McEntee, his paternal grandmother, Antoinette Lewkewich, his aunt Carol Putnam and uncle George Lukasik.

Obituary: Edward F. Kloczko, 92

Obit - Edward F KloczkoEdward F. Kloczko, 92, of Southington, died on Monday, June 6 at Cheshire Regional Rehab Center.

He was born in Southington on Jan. 29, 1924 to the late Benjamin (Bronislaw) and Mary (Kasparewicz) Kloczko.

He was a lifelong resident of Southington. He attended schools in Southington and Wilcox Vocational School in Meriden. He joined the U.S. Navy in January 1943.  During WWII, Edward saw action aboard the cruiser USS Philadelphia in the Mediterranean Sea as a Petty Officer 2nd Class; taking part in the invasions of Sicily, Salerno, Anzio and Southern France. His ship was credited with downing 15 German Planes. Mr. Kloczko earned 14 service medals and 7 letters of commendation, including one from General George Patton. Edward was called back to active duty during the Korean Conflict, serving aboard the destroyer USS Darby.

He retired from the former Buswell Metal Products Company as a tool maker and department supervisor. Edward was a lifetime member of The Veterans of Foreign Wars. Edward enjoyed and took pride in working around his “show place” yard and flower gardens. He also enjoyed watching the many birds that fed in the numerous birdfeeders placed in his yard. Edward was often quoted as saying, “I have had a good life…especially in my retirement.” Throughout his life, Ed had many friends due to his outgoing and friendly personality. He was forever smiling and often volunteered to help his friends, neighbors and family when the occasion called for it. He also took pleasure in seeing his new friends and caregivers at Mulberry Gardens where Ed participated in Adult Day Care activities and at the Highlands Rehab Facility in Cheshire, where he often spoke thankfully of the caring staff. He also enjoyed his two Havanese dogs; Carlee and Skipper and missed his devoted (deceased) mini Schnauzer of 14 years, Frisky.

He was a faithful parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church. Edward donated to the church a set of specially designed interior doors in memory of his deceased parents, who immigrated from Wiszniewo/Vilna, Poland, and were former parishioners of Immaculate Conception Church.

He leaves a son, Glenn, who he was very proud of and who he brought up as a single parent, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Chester Kloczko and sisters: Wanda Kloczko, Mary DiNello and Helen Turek.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. from the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville with a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Summer St., Plantsville. Burial with full military honors will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Southington. FlagEdward P. Surveski, 88, of Southington, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at his home. He had been the loving husband of Pauline (Plawecki) Surveski for 64 years.

Born in Southington on January 5, 1928 to the late Peter and Mary (Shurack) Surveski, he had been a lifelong Southington resident.

Edward proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for 2 years. He retired from New Britain General Hospital. He had a lifetime passion as a licensed ham radio operator.

In addition to his wife Pauline, he is survived by two sons: Peter Surveski and his wife Elaine and Thomas Surveski and his wife Linda, all of Harwinton and 4 grandchildren: Ryan, Amber, Amanda and Ethan. He is also survived by his sister Helen Zadrick and brother Henry Surveski, both of Southington and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son David Surveski.

A funeral service with full military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 10, 2016 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at the Plantsville Funeral Home. Obit - Anne WasAnne (McAvay) Was, 88 of the Plantsville section of Southington, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the HCC at Bradley Memorial Hospital.

Born October 18, 1927 in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Grace (Avery) McAvay.

Anne is survived by her three daughters, Kathryn McGloin and husband William of Southington, Laura Clark and husband Steven of Middletown and JoAnne Was of Southington; five grandchildren, Erik, Maribeth, Gary, Jamie and wife Alison; two great-grandchildren, Jaxen and Clayton along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a great-grandson Jamie and three sisters, Catherine, Grayce and Marion.

Anne will be sorely missed by her family. They would like to thank her friends and neighbors who filled her days and watched over her with loving care. Her family would also like to thank Dr. Andrew Guest and his staff for their wonderful care given to Anne over many years.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St., Southington. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Britain. Obit - John Rossi JrJohn J. Rossi, Jr. 79 of Englewood, FL, formerly from Southington, died Sunday, May 15, 2016. He was born June 7, 1936 in Meriden. He was the son of the late Emma (Mercaldi) and John Rossi, Sr.

John was a 1955 Graduate of Wilcox State Tech in Meriden, where he enjoyed and excelled playing basketball, thanks to Coach Ben Zajac. He was an Eagle Scout and a Navy Veteran USNR 1954-1962. John retired from MRM Industries (30 years) and Lori Lock (9 years). He was a life member of the Meriden Elks, served as an auxiliary Police Patrolman, and served as Secretary of the Della Neve Society in Southington.

Family was most important to John and he worked very hard all his life to provide for them. His greatest joy was the many family gatherings and the great food prepared by many.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years and nurse, Maryanne (Calvanese) Rossi. He was adored by his six children: Ken and Michele Rossi, David and Gayle Rossi, Laura and Dana Barrow, Mary Rossi and Gary, Jack Rossi and Ana Paula, and Jeanne and Jeff Daughenbaugh; a loving brother and sister, Michael Rossi Sr. and Louise Rukus;

Most of all, John was full of love and pride for his eight grandchildren: Brianna, Domenic, Ben, & Jonathon Rossi, Jesse and Sienna Barrow, Ashlyn and Devin Daughenbaugh. He also loved and enjoyed their cherished family pets, he especially loved their dogs.

John will be missed by his in-laws John & Carol Calvanese, Richard & Sue Calvanese, and Susan & Mike Murphy; his Godmother & Aunt Carmel Bucholz, Aunt Adeline Mercaldi, and family friend Marge Rinkavage; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

We will all miss Big John!

A memorial service will be held at Mary Our Queen Church, 248 Savage Street, Southington on Saturday, June 25 at 11:00 am. There will be no graveside service. John will be buried alongside his parents at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meriden.

Obit - Christopher Philip DarlingChristopher Philip Darling, 67, of Southington passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at the HCC at New Britain General after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was the loving husband of Jayne (LeHerissier) Darling.

Born September 23, 1948 in New Britain, Chris was the son of Philip T. Darling of South Carolina and the late Elsa (Rinas) Darling. He attended Southington schools and was a graduate of CCSU.

Christopher retired from Colt’s Manufacturing after 37 years of service. He was an avid golfer and an American Civil War history buff. He was a devoted fan of the New York Giants and New York Yankees.

In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by two daughters, Alisa Darling, MD and Erin Darling both of Southington and a sister Wendie Donahue of Virginia as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews..

A memorial service will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church, 521 Woodruff St., Southington on Thursday June 16 at 11 a.m.  Burial will be at South End Cemetery. Memorial calling hours will be Wednesday June 15 , from 6-8 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington.

Shaun graduated from Crosby High School in Waterbury in 1999 and completed a certificate program in Agronomy at the University of Massachusetts. He had been an Assistant Superintendant of many local golf courses.

He is survived by his mother Elizabeth (Mullaly) Geary and his father Matthew Geary Jr. and wife Beth all of Waterbury; a brother Matthew Geary and wife Lisa of Manchester; aunts Joan Thomas and husband Joseph of Waterbury, Mary Ellen Lauria of Prospect, Maureen Pelosi and husband Louis of Wolcott, Nancy Silva and husband Joseph of Waterbury, and Patty Geary of Waterbury, uncles Joseph Mullaly and wife Janice of Waterbury and James DeVito of FL, a step brother Chris Crump, 3 step sisters Stacey Penniman, Robyn Dion, and Melissa Richards; a nephew Matthew Geary and 2 nieces Emerson and Olivia Geary, along with cousins David, Sarah, Brian, Jennifer, Kristyn, Michelle, Louis, Emily, Joseph, Meghan, Caitlin, Ashley, Jimmy, and Ryan.

Shaun was pre-deceased by aunt Patricia DeVito; uncles James Geary and Thomas Lauria, and grandparents Joseph and Irene Mullaly and Matthew and Ann Geary.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday June 15, 2016 at 10 am. Calling hour will be on Tuesday from 8:30 am – 9:30 am at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
