Immacolata Altieri, 98, of Southington, died on Sunday, April 17.
Immacolata Altieri, 98, of Southington, passed away Sunday, April 17th surrounded by her loving family at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. She was the wife of the late Pietro Altieri.
She was born in Dragoni, Italy on May 27, 1917, the daughter of the late Carlo and Alessandra Buonantuomo. Immacolata was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for her family as well as knitting all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren blankets.
She is survived by her children, Jerry Altieri and wife Vittoria, Amalia Bertuca and husband Gus, Anna Colaccino and husband Joseph, Mary Serafino and husband Peter she also leave 10 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Amalia and 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
The Funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:15 am from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to St. Thomas Church at 10 am for a Mass. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday (TODAY) from 5-8 pm.
